Lately..

Jaxon definately got spoiled with tons of fun toys, a blanket, clothes and some books his first Christmas. Some of the toys are still a bit too big for him, so his hands and feet...or any toy he can hold on to and stuff in his mouth, are his favorite.

With just a few of his new toys.

Eating in his new big boy seat. Making a mess
is his specialty!

Enjoying bath time! (I found this at a garage
sale last summer-quite handy!)

And the cute lil duck, all washed up!

Today he has been somewhat of a monster, so I know I've said it before; but I'm saying it again anyway, I believe he IS teething :p

Merry Christmas Eve

Tonight we had our first Christmas Dinner as a little family. Although Jaxon didn't get to enjoy it! We both did our share in the kitchen, which was fun :) My dad and uncle even joined us.
May you all have a very merry Christmas!!

Kent working on perfecting the process of rolling out the dough, cutting and rolling 'em up

Beautfiuly sculpted dinner rolls by Kent! He was proud of the 'stubby' one in the middle.

Opening presents

We decided to finish our shopping so we could open our presents this fine winter evening!

Jaxon sittin by the tree

Jaxon with his gifts

Brandie with hers

and me with mine

He tried to help open it some, but was more interested in the paper than the present inside!

I tried to teach him how to roll the wheel

Then he was tired so I put him to sleep a couple times. The end

Winter wonderland...

Today Jaxon and I (no sense in the WHOOO? business :) headed out to do our Christmas shopping, yes we're a little behind schedule ;) Until today I had only bought a couple things, and I ordered them from the internet. Anyway, so my plan was to get everything today, but of course that didn't happen. It was quite crazy out-tons of people and messy roads. I only couln't find one thing I wanted to get, and Kent needs a new stocking so maybe we'll go try again tomorrow. BTW Jaxon was an angel the whole time! I debated leaving him at home with daddy but I met my mom for a little bit and figured she would like to see him. Plus he has been better in the car lately. He fell asleep in Target (go figure!) and through 4 more stores! When he woke up as we were leaving the last store I was nervous he would then scream the whole way home, assuming he must be starving! But he likes to suprise me :) Patiently jabbered to himself and was just fine hanging out with dad while I brought the bags in.

He has indeed discovered his feet/toes. And they must be tasty :)

Helping mom wrap presents. Little Mr. grabby hands reached over and got a scrap of paper! (We only let him have it long enough for a pic, I promise!)

Soo the last week, well since Jaxon turned 5 months, we've been introducing veggies. I'm a big meanie and am making him try all of them before any sweet, yummy fruit :) Guess I just fear once he gets a taste of them he could care less about vegetables, but maybe not.

He's tried green beans (loved them), peas (loved them), carrots (not so much), and sweet potatoes (loved 'em). I've been feeding him in this lil' chair so now once you set him in it, before you have a chance to strap the bib on him, his mouth is already wide open-ready and waiting (impatiently I must add!) to gulp down the whole jar.

His shiny face is from some cream I've been putting on his poor chapped cheeks and hands. Since he is so fond of sucking on them, leaving them super slobbery, they've been getting nice and red. Looks rather painful but hasn't stopped him.
He still shows little interest in rolling over, although he is capable, just stubborn. Maybe he thinks learning to sit up is funner. Oh, and have I mentioned he likes to throw little fits (already!) by getting leverage with his feet arching his back...ohh yes, so fun! Mostly when you're putting him in the car seat and he doesn't think it's necessary.
His hair (or fuz) is actually filling in quite nicely :p (While mine is still falling out by the handful...grr). I doubt he will ever have too thick of hair, being his father nor mother have much to brag about.

Yay for smiles!

Hmm it seems like I should have plenty to say, but some reason I'm at a loss for words! One thing, in case you were wondering-No Jaxon hasn't COMPLETELY kept up the good work :) He has been doing better though, just still nothing I can count on. (It's gotta be getting close!)

OK, now he's just showin' off!

Jaxon slept 8 hours :D

So it's normal for him to not go to sleep til 11 or 12...even though I start trying usually by 10. I'll get him to sleep, put him to bed and he will either wake up right away or after 30 min or so and we start the feeding, rocking, etc process all over again and then finally he might stay sleeping for 2-3 hours.

Wellll last night went a lil' bit differently! Kent was going to bed and I just finished feeding Jaxon, so went in to tell him goodnight and figured might as well TRY laying Jaxon down (still awake, but tired; remember? ;) and I told Kent, "I'm gonna get on the computer for a lil' bit, and he will probably cry." This was about 11. I went back 20 min later after not hearing a peep, and both were sound asleep! Sweet!

When 6AM rolled around, I had to get up and be sure he was still breathing :P At approx 7:20AM he started kicking around and jabbering away...I let him for a few min then I couldn't stand it any longer....I missed the lil guy! Funny how it seems I complain so much about how he doesn't sleep, wants to eat all the time..yet when he goes so long without 'needing' me, I can't stand it! Ok, I'm probably weird :) And I'm sure it will only get harder the older he gets, needing me less and less. OH welll then it will be time for another??

Happy 5 month birthday, Baby Jaxon!

No cake, but Kent did make some delicious choc-chip cookies! So I ofcourse ate my share, and some for Jaxon too :) Jaxon sure thinks he's pretty big! And figured I needed his help getting the Christmas cards ready to mail. So if yours comes with some extra slobber or a crooked stamp-you can thank him ;)
I finally tried laying him down for a nap (or atleast a rest :P)when he's tired, but still awake. He did pretty good with it actually! As long as he has his pacifier and a soft blanket alongside his face! (Suppose that's my fault for always nursing him to sleep.) But it seems like a pretty simple solution.

Undressing himself :S This is a first! As you can see, not much stops him from stuffing his hand in his mouth :)

Copying daddy...must've thought it was cool 'cause he stayed like this, and happy, for quite some time!

Thanks Great Aunt Nina!

Cuddling with his new quilt..suprised he's not trying to eat it! He even layed on his tummy for quite a while (for him anyway!) to check out the cute cowboy bears on the other side!

mini photo-shoot

Always trying to capture his sweet smiles on camera, usually with little to no luck! Visiting at Brian and Elsa's and she set up shop-it was actually a success! Thanks!
