bread and boy

Yesterday I felt ambitious to try my hands at making bread. I've done dinner rolls a couple times, but was informed plain ol' bread is easier. And since we go through so much it seems, figured it was worth a shot. Plus Kent seems to prefer it, hints as to why I got bread pans for Christmas. So maybe if it turned out he will get it more often than just a special treat when he goes to mom and dads!Kent even helped!

3/4 loaves..after dumping the 4th one on to the rack to cool, I barely got turned away and it tipped on to the floor. It lost a few inches off its height. So, needless to say it looks even worse and more deformed than these!Hopefully those towels were not too dirty...
"Oooh I see a camera.."
This little farmer has been keeping me on my toes lately. Within the last week he has started to crawl. Still not full time, though. Each day he seems a bit more brave and adventuresome. Pulls himself to stand at the coffee table, chairs, ottoman and has attempted just about everything else in the house.

Last night I walked passed him to start his bath. After I checked the water to be sure it wasn't too hot and got the tub filling, I turned around to an eager little boy in the doorway! Only came maybe 10 ft or so, BUT the point is I'm not used to him being very far from where I left him, especially not following right behind me! Now I will have to be putting non-baby things out of reach, and keeping doors closed.

My mom asked, after seeing a pic of his new behaviors, what I was going to do when I couldn't find him..ha ha I can see it now :) This has got to be one of the funnest ages! He has been such a good boy lately. I really, really don't want to be pressing my luck though, so I'll just leave it at that ;)

Twins?!

Today I'm babysitting for some friends of ours. Their little girl, Shayla, is just a couple weeks younger than Jaxon. She seems to love playing with all the new toys, while Jaxon sits back and observes. It hasn't been too bad though, they are both taking naps now. Good thing she likes to just be put in the crib with her blanky and pacifier, since Jaxon must be asleep before you lay him down or else he is trying to escape. Normally, no matter how tired he is. I'm sure when your used to having two babies all the time, you quickly figure out what works best. Although when you start adding 3 and 4 babies, I would need some extra hands!

It didn't take her long before she discovered THE basket, and had it emptied.

Since Jaxon loves to play with anyones cell phone who will allow it, we dug up this old phone of Kent's. Apparently they both think they need it. I hope to have more play dates so he won't be so stingy with his things.
I'll try getting a pic of them looking when they wake up.

Enjoying some good ol' sunshine last week. First time we actually ventured out in the yard. Our grass is still mostly yellow and pokey. He was unsure of it at first, but seemed to warm up to the idea pretty quick! I'm so glad we've been having nice weather.
Wild boy in action. He loves the noise hitting his hands or toys on things makes, so here he is beating on the chair.
Cheesin' it up; under the kitchen table.

So, so blessed.

I hate the fact that it sometimes takes reading a blog of the story of someone else to make me realize remind me of how truly blessed we are to have such a healthy, sweet, growing little boy. If you haven't already, and have the chance please take the time to pray for sweet baby Jonah. And if you're anything like me you will start from the beginning just so you get to know the family a little better.

------------------------------
Speaking of our healthy, sweet, growing little boy.....he is getting into everything, constantly! You turn your back for just a second and he's standing at the back of the chair, pulling things off the coffee table, etc. I especially learned this afternoon that when I don't hear any noise from him for any longer than half a min. I better check, he is more than likely up to no good! He has been crawling...and scooting, but mostly when he is determined to get something he's not supposed to have :) Also gets completely on all fours with his bum up in the air, kinda like a bear. He's cute ;)

Surgery it is.

Enjoying some cheerios for the first time. He is quick to let you know when he wants more, whether he actually ate them all, knocked them on the floor or has lost them down the front of him.

This morning, bright and early, we went to Jaxon's ENT Specialist appt. Unfortunately, there is still fluid in both ears. Not terrible, but even some is too much after 2 months and 4 antibiotics. He is scheduled for the relatively simple surgery on April 6th, even earlier but probably not as bright, at 6:30A. He will be put to sleep, but the procedure is expected to only last about 5 min. I'm still nervous of it, he's my little baby! I was actually shocked when the Dr. said "be sure and stay with him for the first 24 hours, and after that you can continue your normal routine." I suppose that may be more for working mothers those who work outside of the house, but still I couldn't imagine! Maybe I just assume everyone knows I'm with him always!

His smiles appear much more often everyday, to pretty much anyone who will give him attention. Especially if they tell him how cute and adorable he is, he will even show his two tiny teefers. Speaking of them, anytime now I expect some more to be peeking through on top. Maybe between that and the tubes, we just might find out what sleep is all about!

Accomplishments

The other day Jaxon was being super fussy off and on. When I finally got him sleeping, put him in his bed for nap and headed towards a shower, he of course woke up. So I wanted him to fall back asleep and found his papasan chair, which he has not sat in for months. Obviously he is way too big for it, but I guess I needed a reminder.

"What are my toys doing down here?"

"I wonder if there's anything in the cabinets for me...?"

I figured it would be safer to not have him completely strapped in just in case he decided to escape from it instead of peacefully rest. Maybe I was wrong! He turned after I was out and watching his every move closely :)
Can't leave mommy's prettys anywhere nearby.

Late last night he discovered how to go from his back to his tummy, no surprise there, but then he pushed himself back to his knees and into a sitting position! I was so thrilled, but I'm quite sure he was more proud of his accomplishment. Amazes me how they just suddenly figure something out, and from then on act like they've been doing it for years!

Jaxon's 8 Month Bday!

Excited to go to Milne with daddy. Their first adventure together. Apparently he cried the whole way home, so Kent said that was enough for a month. Ha
So thrilled to empty the shopping bags for me.
"I'm not sleeping, I'm stuck!"
Pretty sure that was his excuse so he could visit Uncle Ernie and Auntie Krista.

Not sure why, but he kept hiding his face between Aarons leg and the couch. He's a little unusual to say the least.
Sportin' his new jean jacket from gramma Nadine. Rather proud looking.
He isn't crawling, but I suspect it won't be much longer. Finding all sorts of things to get in to. Once he figures it out I'll be wanting him to just sit still, I imagine.

His last antibiotic was finished on sunday, but he woke up congested with a runny nose. Ugh. He already had a scheduled appt. for this morning so we just waited it out. He didn't act any different, and has actually been sleeping pretty good. So I figured he must have finally gotten better. Nope, he still isn't. Now it's his left ear. They seem to be taking turns. How nice of them. He was given a shot of antibiotic in the office and then trying Augmentum once again starting tomorrow. They got him an appointment with an ENT for March 18th. Then they can see if they have cleared up or see what our next option is. I'm so ready for him to be well again!

Within the last week or two I noticed Jaxon wasn't seeming full, and somewhat losing interest in nursing. Getting frustrated. So one night I figured I would give him a bottle and see what happens...he drank 8 0z :S I was starving the poor kid, apparently! Needless to say, he is now basically full time on formula. The switch has went rather smoothly, for the both of us ;) It's already obvious he knows that a bottle means food. In some ways it's kind of nice. Easier to be on more of a schedule for me. Although it's one more thing to get ready before we leave the house.

Where is the next tooth gonna be?!

Rocking back and forth.

It's been such a beautiful day out! If it weren't for the wet ground and breeze, I would've had him on this blanket outside. Instead we enjoyed the indoors with the sliding door and blinds open. Spring may have sprung! Yay!

Last wednesday Jaxon and I rode along with my dad to visit my sister Mistie and her family. We stayed until friday afternoon. They've only seen J a handful or so of times so it was pretty exciting for them...atleast I think so! We had a good time. It's never fun to leave. I wish I would have had my camera handy to catch the grin on Jaxon AND Kent's face when we got home friday night. Think they missed each other a tad.

Showing daddy he's gettin' so big.

Gwen, Jaxon and Owen. I couldn't get them all to cooperate at the same time.

Sampling a pickle at lunch.

I met a girl yesterday that also has a little boy, just a few months older. He was adorable! But I'm always curious how other babies behave, sleep and what they're learning so of course I had to ask a few questions! He is 11 months and just started crawling and has no teeth. Oh Jaxon, we have time...so much time :)

I also got to see Owen and Stephanie Matson's tiny twins. I had such a tough time grasping the fact that Lilli Ann is at the weight Jaxon was when he was born, or just a few ounces less. She is way too small, no way my baby was ever that little :p
