Whelp, 3 kids is much more work than 2! If it wasn't for having internet and texting on my phone people would probably think I disappeared. Of course Kipton is still a newborn, so it will get easier as he needs me less, but for now getting the chance to shower or eat is more of a priority than most things anymore :)
Kipton will be 7 weeks old tomorrow, wow! Almost 2 months. He started smiling last week, but you still have to work on him for a bit, but its for sure worth it! Jaxon and Hayden are anxiously waiting for him to be more interactive, i can tell. And Im sure Daddy is too :) I guess its not so exciting for them when he pretty much just wants his Mommy. Though I do enjoy when others can entertain them some!
OK so I shall see if i can get a birth story typed up for those interested :) I did take notes this time...you know, for as long as i was able to! So skip to the pictures if you'd like!
I shall back track a little....Just before I was 36 weeks, my dr sent me for an ultrasound to check up on baby since the only other one i had was at 18 or so weeks. Previous pregnancies I've had multiple u/s, but I wasn't complaining on just having one this time! Less times to be teased to find out what you're having and cheaper! Anyway, my dr had thought they baby was measuring small and had me do another at 36.5 weeks to check on movements and also a non stress test. Baby passed both, but with other dr's opinions they agreed that my placenta was looking old and possibly no longer giving baby the nutrients needed to keep growing. I was then put on a list to be induced at 37 weeks and one day. Of course I anxiously hung around home waiting for a call, nothing. They had told me I would be high priority since it was for medical reasons not just elective, but if i didn't hear from them by noon to call and see where i was on the list. The clock had just barely struck 12 and i was on the phone to the hospital! Somehow i was still 3rd on the list and they had so many walk ins that I probably wouldn't get a call to come in until the next morning. Bummer. But at least i was able to relax instead of sit by the phone. Until about 8:30 in the evening when my phone rang, and I went in to instant panic! Sure enough it was the nurse from the hospital calling to see if we could make it in by 10:30pm. I nervously said yes as long as we could get a babysitter. We weren't home so we headed that way and I got the kids bathed and made sure my bag was packed. My sister showed up just before 10 to stay with the kids. We arrived at the hospital right on time. Unfortunately we had loads of paperwork to fill ou t before they finally started pitocin at midnight. Note to self: Don't go in late at night! Starting out tired is a bad way! Every hour they upped the dose. At 2:40am after just returning to bed from the bathroom, i was pretty sure i had felt a gush but wasn't sure, so i waited. then another gush came so I called the nurse to have her check. I remembered her telling me that at some point the dr would break my water and it would cause my contractions to get much harder and if i wanted an epidural it might be a good idea to get one before then. Well before she got to the room the next contraction was indeed much harder so i was convinced it really had broke. At 2:50 she confirmed it did break and I was only 3cm and 80%. I panicked thinking id for sure be getting a c section since i was only that far. at 4:30 I decided I'd had enough of the pain and asked for the epidural. and my luck he was busy in another room, so he finally got to me at 5:30. Almost instantly after, other than the great relief, I felt awful. I was sure i was going to throw up, so i called the nurse in. About the same time the machines started beeping and i figured it was from the bands monitoring the baby since i had rolled over. But it was actually from my blood pressuring dropping. Apparently a common side effect from the epi. One i hadn't experienced before! I cant remember for sure if they gave me anything in my iv for it then or not. Then it was time for shift change so the nurses were in discussing what was going on and i was just trying to stay still and not be sick! Between the contractions and the baby moving down, his heart rate kept dropping so they had me moving constantly. Finally at 7:30 I was feeling a decent amount of pressure so had the nurse check if i had made any progress, still stressing that I may need a c section at this point. Phew! I was complete and ready to go!(and that our baby had hair!) Except the dr was 10 minutes away from the hospital! The dr came cruising in the room at 8:00 and Kipton Michael was born at 8:11 after just 2-3 pushes. I did have extra bleeding afterwards and the nurse gave me a shot of something in my leg. I must have looked at her like she was crazy coming at me with a needle, since of course they're talking in they're own language acting so calm and there's so much going on that i wasn't sure what was happening! But she assured me i had an epidural i wouldn't feel it :) I'm still not sure how i managed to give birth when i felt so awful because it didn't go away after he was born. Once everything was cleaned up, i was holding Kipton and looked around and no body else was in the room. I had the sudden urge to throw up but i just kept swallowing and focusing on not, and hoping somebody would come in the room fast because i did not want to puke on my brand new baby! Thankfully it passed and when the nurse came back she gave me a double dose of Zofran. It kicked in pretty quick and took the edge off, but for the rest of the day i felt a bit yucky. I'm not sure if the loss of blood had anything to do with it, but when my dr discharged me the next morning he mentioned being glad he got it taken care of right away. Yikes! Glad my new baby kept me occupied so I didn't really know how bad it was!

Much happier after he got warmed up!
PROUD big brother!
Kisses from Big Sis
Hayden is warming up to him :)
Kiptons very first real smile! So glad I had the camera handy!
She thought it was so neat to put her baby in the bouncy seat. I can hardly wait to get her one for her dolls for Christmas :)
(Sorry it's sideways, I didn't change it ahead of time and thought blogger would let me do it.)
Ok babies are waking up, so sorry for all the typos! Hope to be updating more often, soon!
