Nothing is safe..

Jaxon has begun rolling :D Just started within the last couple days. He's making his way into the kitchen as I type. We're already getting an idea of what it will be like when he starts crawling...watch out! Here's some pics of his adventures so far....

"oooh I like mom's phone..and I even got it myself!"
"Ready? Set.....
Roll!"

And here he is under my chair. The fun begins ;)

Apparently his ears haven't slowed him down too much. We met grammy (my mom) at the mall today and had lunch. He got to be big and sit in a high chair and eat guacamole, rice and beans. It was an enjoyable trip for us all, he did great!

Not again? Yes, again.

I thought Jaxon was doing much better while on his second antibiotic. He finished it Sunday, and slowly started showing signs that his ears just might be bothering him again. Only taking 30 min naps, waking up more at night, only a little fussy...but to top it off he started playing with his right ear. I figured he may have just discovered it, and just so happened it was the ear that had the worst infection. I made him an appt for this morning to 're-check' his ears, and by evening he started to sound congested again too. Ugh. So we went in bright and early, for us, and I really REALLY wanted to be proved wrong..my motherly instincts were false. But, nope. Double ear infection still...or again. He starts yet another 10 day antibiotic and goes back in two weeks whether he seems better or not. Last chance for it to clear up or we will be sent to ENT dr and consider putting tubes in. I had them, so possibly I passed this down, unfortunately.
Our poor little baby.
He weighed in at a whopping 17 lbs 9 oz. So he is up a little over a lb. from when he first got sick. Since he lost his appetite he stayed the same weight for a month. Luckily this time he hasn't fought eating...which shows! Couple more lbs and new carseat for Jaxon!

I am not a jogger.

Even if my stroller is meant for it, I on the other hand am not. (I didn't get it because I was a jogger, never have been, but thought maybe I would be. Someday.) I discovered this yesterday when we started out on a stroll. After a little ways I chose a spot off in the distance that I would start jogging and not stop 'til I reached it (not like this was very far) and I wasn't doing so well. I imagine I looked extremely pitiful to the few cars that drove by. I did make myself get to the street corner, which was the spot I had picked...but I was sure my lungs were about to burst. I'm sure a big part of it is that I haven't done much exercise since...well it's just been a while :) So from now on I'm sticking with walking.
I AM a walker.

We recently have started our own Bible study. Starting from the beginning and reading one chapter a night to ourselves and then discussing it. I'm enjoying it and eager to learn more and more.

Onto other much more exciting news-Jaxon still refuses to be on his tummy any longer than I make him. He grabs for toys or the table leg and gets up either on to his knees or higher. If he slips forward and lays down he gets extremely upset. So I don't see how this child is ever going to crawl. He will probably be a 'late' crawler and I'll just have to learn to live with it :p I actually don't worry too much about the age he is learning stuff, but I sure get confused as to why he likes doing things out of order, or so it seems.

And some photos for your viewing pleasure~

He really likes this fish.

Decided he would chew on the rail on his way up. Guess I do need one of those protectors I had thought were pointless.

I had to actually raise the rail. He tried toppling over!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Jaxon putting his 'touch', literally, on daddy's card
He got this for his first Valentine's. Very cute!
(I also made Kent a chocolate cake :)

My beautiful orchid :)
We're planning to go out to supper tomorrow night when it won't be so crowded out. We did the same thing last year since I was working. I figure it's well worth the extra wait ;)

Serious tummy time required

Lil' Jaxon has recently shown much interest in pulling himself up to a standing position, as I've mentioned in a previous post. Until last night though, I only noticed it when we would let him grab onto our fingers to do so, which obviously we provided some strength and extra support. While I was standing over him to floss my teeth he tried pulling himself up by my pant legs! Crazy monkey! And then tried using a basket full of towels. He of course didn't get too far off the ground, but what in the world is he thinking? He can't even crawl yet, or really even attempt to by rocking back and forth on his knees...anyway, so I decided late last night to get out his Leap Frog Activity Table that I was sure would be too big for him for a while yet.

Not sure if you can tell, but he was in the process of pulling up. That's about as far as he can get on his own.

Turning the page on the book..show off!

Seems to enjoy it!

Needless to say, we will be putting in double time working on this tummy stuff. He apparently needs it! He still rarely rolls over, so it wouldn't be unlike him to try skipping a stage. But not crawling? That's just not even right. I did take the legs off the table, so that should give him something new to play with while laying on the floor.

*I do dress him in clothing other than 'jammas occasionally :p

just lotsa pics :)

Now on his second antibiotic he seems to be improving, hopefully it last this time. And I noticed last night he has yet another tooth coming through! Oh yea, he's officially 7 months old too ;)
Daddy finally has someone to play goalie! Ha-he just wants to chew on the stick ;)

Stretching, reaching..

And he got it!

I tried getting him in the 'crawling' position but he preferred to just plop back down.

Finally the lil' man of the house is feeling better. Baby feeling better + sleeping better = happier me :) Due to not feeling so hot, he didn't have much of an appetite. I'm guessing because of this is why he hasn't gained any weight the past two weeks (but hasn't lost either!) or else it's because I threatened if he gained anymore weight he was getting a new carseat :p Gettin' rather heavy to tote around! Occasionally we do just leave it in the car though. It does come in handy when he falls asleep on the way somewhere, then we don't have to interrupt his much needed rest!

Quite often lately he really tries stretching to reach his toys that are either too far away to start with, or that he has thrown himself. Usually he can grab them and then sit back up straight, but sometimes he flops over onto his belly. Surprisingly he doesn't get upset...not right away, anyway! I doubt be will be crawling too terribly soon, but yet soon enough!

He's started to put his arms up to you when you reach out to pick him up. Although, I'm not too sure if he really is meaning he wants picked up or is just reaching to grab our hands. Either way its a milestone to me! Standing up, with help of course, is one of his favorites these days. Wether he's laying down or sitting up, he will grab our fingers and pull himself to a standing position. Thinks it's pretty cool.

The cutie himself ;)
Wish I could say it was warm enough to wear this outfit outside..but it's not. Don't want such cute clothes to just sit in his dresser! Figured it'd be comfy to just hang around the house in, and maybe..just MAYBE it will still fit him when it warms up!
